Implementation of cartography, mapping and modelling for geology and exploration could be done in many software packages. So during this process it is crucial to aggregate all the data from different sources, coming in its own formats. This article describes how to do it within AutoCAD MAP environment.
Year after year the initially drafting software from Autodesk sugnificantly grows and develops, and on the same core a geographic information system is made to work with spatial geodetic data. This platform allows to integrate data from CAD, GIS, raster images, create and edit databases. Additional modules AutoCAD Map, Autodesk World provide wide variety of tools to integrate, demonstrate, query and analyze your datasets, and create infographics, tables and reports, compartible with Microsoft Office suit.
Completely scalable technology of Autodesk World could be used by one person or one thousand, be installed on one computer or on multiple network workstations in a big corporative enterprise. Every user creates hersonal view of dataset, without changing stored information. Client-server architecture guarantees on-demand access and continuity of provided data.
All this allows to choose Autodesk software is suitable for complex projects at different stages of geological exploration.
In current example initially vectorized in ArcGIS 10.2 contours are transferred to AutoCAD, and then back, for control we will see coincidence of those sets of contours, and also specially chosen marker points, for which are shown coordinates, calculated automatically with software tools.
